Overview

Spacing Inspector ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information, including but not limited to:

Information We Handle Locally

The Extension only processes information locally on your device:

  1. Extension Settings: Your preferences (color choices, opacity levels, toggle states) are stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. This data never leaves your device and is only synchronized across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome Sync.
  2. Page Analysis: When you use the Extension to inspect elements, all calculations and visualizations occur locally in your browser. The Extension analyzes the DOM structure and CSS styles of webpages you're actively inspecting, but this analysis happens entirely in your browser's memory and is not transmitted anywhere.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage APIs:

Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party services that collect personal data. The only external resource used is:

Permissions Usage

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions solely for its core functionality:

  1. activeTab: To temporarily access the current webpage when you activate the Extension
  2. scripting: To inject visualization scripts into the current page
  3. storage: To save your preferences locally
  4. <all_urls>: To work on any website you visit (essential for a CSS inspection tool)

These permissions are used exclusively for visualizing CSS spacing and never for data collection.

Data Security

Since no data is collected or transmitted, there are no security risks associated with data breaches. All processing occurs locally in your browser's sandboxed environment.

Children's Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal data, this is inherently protected.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
